THE POLITICAL THING TO DO

THE POLITICAL THING TO DO………. WHEN IN DOUBT, JUST VOTE FOR THE OTHER GUY!

As silly as that sounds, I am thinking that when all is said and done, and reflect on these up-coming elections we will find that most voting americans were frustrated with the status-quo, angry about the economy, the war, the legislation, the scare tactics, and their pocket book. As a result therefore, the voted for the other guy!

There is a lot of talk about americans, and how they are making their decisions so carefully this time around. But regardless of the idea that they think we need diversification in politics, the idea that we need to vote anything but Democrat or Republican, they will end  in the end voting for the other guy!  In this case, it will be the Republicans.

They won’t vote Tea Party, they are nothing but far right conservatives cloaked in sheep skin, but really they are just a bunch of angry ticked off republicans. They won’t vote Independent, because they see these guys as leaning far left, far right, or they are just way the heck out there on cloud nine somewhere. In short they do not have a handle on who these guys are. They know this, they represent change, but what kind of change.

I find all this disturbing. The reason is that most folk, pay no attention to whats going on until its time to vote, then they listen to a bunch of lies, spin slogans, and punch lines designed to woo their vote. Once the clown gets the job, its off to Washington, and they forget all about the folks back home. This is a constant. Happens every election, and until the voter gets the idea, and that light bulb goes on in his head, we will see no real change in washington other than a two-party system exchanging the gavel every two to eight years.

It’s all a power game folks. Every time there is an election, we hear all these promises, accusations, and hollern about how bad the other guy is. We take things out of context, and make charges that do not have a legal arm to stand on. Then we vote in the same ol’ crap, different title.

That’s frustrating for those of us who watch politics all the time. We know that Washington is in serious need of change. We know that we need responsible, committed individuals in office who care about this nation of ours. the people we want are the ones who cherish this great experiment called Democracy. Those who would die defending the ideals of freedom. Those who believe in liberty and true justice for all. We are looking for people committed to a real cause of restoring The United States of America to the respect and honor she once held around the world. Look at us today. We apologise for a war we did not cause. We bow to leaders who have made it quite clear their have no respect for us. We cater to those who would in a heartbeat destroy our very nation.

And yet, we have on blinders when it comes to the simple task of voting for the right guy, who ever he/she might be. We want our vote to count. Let me tell you something my friends, I don’t care if you vote for Bugs Bunny, you vote counts! Your vote is a statement. It tells everyone where you stand. That’s what Democracy is all about. Don’t worry about the insults of Sean Hannady, or about Rush playing the Soviet National Anthem. Step up, step in, and cast a ballot. Then you have exercised the greatest free act known to man. You voted. That is freedom. Your vote counts.

I think what I’m trying to say in a nut shell is this. Our great nation is in serious trouble. there are a lot of serious issues that impact everyone of us. Everyone of us has an opinion, and the time to voice that opinion is November the third this year. So no matter how you feel, no matter what you think, go to the polls, step up to the plate, and cast your ballot. That is your Freedom in action!

That’s my point of view. I hope to hear from you in the near future. Have a great day and as usual……….GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

About THE HORTON JOURNAL A POLITICAL PERSPECTIVE

I am 62 years old. I've been blogging for several years. I am into History and Politics as well as currant events. The latter being the main issues covered on these pages. I was a Community Advocate for twenty years, and a volunteer aide in a State Representatives Office in my home state of Michigan. While I have basically ceased these activities, I still watch the world around me closely and report on it as much as I can, which I might add is often. I encourage comments on my Blogs. I only ask that we keep our opinions clean and without insults threats or intimidation. I hope you take time to read The Horton Journal, and look forward to your comments.
