SARAH MIGHT BE POPULAR, BUT SHE IS WRONG CHOICE FOR PRESIDENT.

Sarah Palin said recently that she felt that she could beat Barrack Obama if she were to run for President in 2012. I said in a recent conversation, that just about anyone might beat Mr. Obama in 2012, if things do not change drastically.

However, the Presidency is not a popularity contest. While Ms. Palin enjoys a lot of popularity and has as a result become an internet star, that does not mean she is qualified for the most powerful job in the world.  I seriously think we have all come to that conclusion in our reconsideration of President Obama.

We are talking here not about popularity, we are talking about experience and ability. Ms. Palin has neither. Just because as she says, she can see Russia from her back yard, does not grant her some special consideration for the Oval Office. Just because she marks herself as an Ultra-Conservative, and is seen as the Conservatives Poster Child, does not qualify her for president.  And just because she calls herself an everyday Socker Mom, who also happens to enjoy all this publicity because she was once Governor of Alaska and abandoned the job to run around the country making her self a millionaire by signing her book “Gone Rouge” , does not mean that a rational people ought to throw three sheets to the wind and elect another rookie to the White House just because she’s a hot commodity, and Republicans feel assured they will win with her leading the charge.

This is not a popularity contest. It is a campaign for President of the United states. Our country is in serious trouble. We have a serious deficit, a crisis in healthcare, as well as education.  We need to reinstate our Industrial base. And on the International front we have a lot of damage to repair.

Thus all this talk and excitement over her possible run for president needs to be altered. Republicans need to get her to back off. She needs to learn the ropes. It might be a good idea to get her involved in International affairs. But she should not be given a seat at the head of the class just because we all think shes a cool chic lady loved by all.

Chic does not make a president, experience does. Don’t believe me ? Consider Obama!

Have a great day and as usual………. GOD  BLESS  AMERICA  ! ! !

About THE HORTON JOURNAL A POLITICAL PERSPECTIVE

I am 62 years old. I've been blogging for several years. I am into History and Politics as well as currant events. The latter being the main issues covered on these pages. I was a Community Advocate for twenty years, and a volunteer aide in a State Representatives Office in my home state of Michigan. While I have basically ceased these activities, I still watch the world around me closely and report on it as much as I can, which I might add is often. I encourage comments on my Blogs. I only ask that we keep our opinions clean and without insults threats or intimidation. I hope you take time to read The Horton Journal, and look forward to your comments.
