President Obama went before the Nation and Congress last night at was called a conciliatory State of The Union Address seeking bipartisan cooperation. He has no choice. Because if the president does not move to the middle of the road it is certain he will get nothing done but stale mate.  Stale mate means that he got nothing done during the second part of his first term, and nothing done equates to no re-election. That is something that this president wants to avoid.

Favors here, favors there, and a couple of nuggets scattered here and there is the plan for the next two years. The idea of course is to get those riding high in the middle road to sway his way in 2012 and re-elect him as president. Will it work. Or will  the electorate see the rouse as it is, and decide its time to make the change.  If that were to occur of course this president goes down as a one term lame duck.

The question is of course will be, is where did the president go wrong. The answer is in the beginning. I would venture that he made to major mistakes right off the bat. First, he never really thought he would be president. He thought he would make a name for himself and become a celebrity and end up on the speaking circuit of course, and he might even move up in the ranks of Democratic Political Leadership somewhere. But, come on, a black man …President of the United States of America?  Please!  Then he got elected, and he was not at all ready. He had to assemble a team, and like others he picked ol’ pals and loyalists from back home. He picked friends from the far left who used to be radicals from way back when, and then prayed his way to January 20th.  He took the oath of office, and immediately fell into mistake number two.

He took off like a bat outta H…… and rammed rodded a Health care Reform Bill through the House and Senate, and in the process opened a Hornets Nest of the kind best left alone. Things have not been the same since. Because if you open up the Conservative Hornets Nest and disturb the contents within you will be running for cover for the rest of the term. They will not, I assure you, just be trying to stop you from getting your legislation through. No Sir; they will be out to get you out of office period.

Well, come the two-year mark of his first administration, he payed the first bill of his mistake for what he thought was a mandate. He lost the House to a Republican majority. Worse yet my friends, he lost the Republican House to a Conservative, Far Right Majority and the launch of a new political movement called the Tea Party.

So now, the President has no choice but to play their game. He has to lean right in order to keep his boat afloat.  Don’t think that the Democrat leadership is not watching. They will not forget what this President cost several of their senior Representative, and Senators during the 2010 campaign.  While Conservative Republicans are praising him for his attempt at bi-partisan-leadership, they also know that it is, in their eyes, a vain attempt to gain support from the middle road voters to assure his re-election bid in 2012.

You see folks, it’s all about power, not the voter. It’s all about power, not you or me, or what we think. It’s all about power, and as others did during the 2010 campaign Obama will do through the 2012 campaign. He will tell you exactly what you want to hear, to assure his re-election, then when he takes a deep sigh realizing he somehow pulled it off by the grace of God, he will make himself comfortable on the second floor West wing residence area of the White house, and by Monday morning forget every thing he promised you over coffee at your kitchen table.

Oh, I might add, as mean spirited as this article seems toward the Democrat end of things, be assured that the Republicans are not only thinking the same thing but are planning on doing the same as well. Why? you ask……………Because my friends;

Have a great day, and as usual  God Bless America!!!

I am 62 years old. I've been blogging for several years. I am into History and Politics as well as currant events. The latter being the main issues covered on these pages. I was a Community Advocate for twenty years, and a volunteer aide in a State Representatives Office in my home state of Michigan. While I have basically ceased these activities, I still watch the world around me closely and report on it as much as I can, which I might add is often. I encourage comments on my Blogs. I only ask that we keep our opinions clean and without insults threats or intimidation. I hope you take time to read The Horton Journal, and look forward to your comments.
