Bin-Laden Death…..The Ever Changing Story!

He was shot twice in the head.  No, he was shot once.  No, he was shot in a hail of gun-fire!  He was shot twice once in the head and once in the chest.  No it was twice in the head, two rapid shots Pop-Pop! It was over.  No it was not, then there was the woman who rushed the Seals, well she had a gun, no she did not have a gun.  She was shot in the leg. Bin-Laden had an AK-47, no he had a pistol, it was a Glock, well one guy actually said it was, well, it was a Squirt gun. (I’m serious)!

This is what we do know, the seals we’re lucky to land, and get the mission moving in the first place. we lost one new stealth helicopter, and no soldiers.  We were able to get them out. After that the story of what happened, how it happened, etc; is kinda muddled.  The President says that, Secretary says This, The Press Secretary says that. Army says one thing, Seals say another. The right hand does not know what the left hand is doing.

Bin-Laden is dead.Thats what is important. It took The U.S. ten years to pull it off, justice has been done. A mad man is gone from our midst, and that means, at least for the immediate moment we can all rest a little easier.  Yes, we look for repercussions in the future. We are on heightened alert.  Many in the Islamic world are angry at us because we murdered their so-called Moral leader. Well if that’s morality!

And then there is Pakistan. Yes they have a lot of explaining to do. They have to come up with a believable story explaining how Osama Bin-Laden could be living no more than a thousand yards from their version of West Point, and not be detected. How This Million Dollar complex can be built specifically to (apparently), house Bin-Laden.

Now Pakistan is angry at The United States for invading their sovereign  territory without their consent.  How we launched a full-scale military operation without their consent.  It is all so obvious why we did what we did.  I can see it now,  “We are coming in to get Bin Laden. OK, they say. We get to the complex, and no Bin-Laden.  I wonder why?

Now Pakistan’s army has warned The United states not to stage more raids. According to the Associated Press, While acknowledging their own shortcomings, they threatened to review cooperation with Washington if there is another similar violation of Pakistani sovereignty.  The tough-sounding statement was a sign of the anger in the army.  It also appeared aimed at appeasing politicians, the public and the media in the country over what is viewed by many there as a national humiliation delivered by a deeply unpopular America.

Deeply unpopular America?  The country who has defended freedom around the world.  The country who along with other allies assured the world that we all were not doing the Goose Stomp, as a result of a mad man named Hitler.  The country who goes to the rescue of any country whenever there is a natural disaster. Yet we are so unpopular.  Really, I noticed that Pakistan has not offered to drop all foreign Aide coming from the United States. They will take our money at the drop of a hat, but how dare us invaid their country to get the worlds worst evil mad diabolical killer since the likes of Adolf Hitler!

I have no idea why the folks in Washington can’t get their story streight.  This is what I do know, Osama Bin-Laden is dead. As the President said, he will never walk the face of this earth again. And as far as I am concerned that’s good enough for me!

That is not to say that in the future, we will have to engage in real discussion as to why this story got so out of control. How no one could, it seem’s get the facts streight.  The facts have to come out. That means an intense investagation, and review of the events in that compound as they occured.  However, we are all going to have to wait for that. Now is not the time, it should never have been the time. What should have been said at the out-set was “We are in the process of de-breifing the operatives in this matter. That is going to take some time.  We want to make sure we have all the facts before explaining the details to the people. We don’t want inconsistant stories floating around, we want the facts.  When we have that, and we are satisfied with the final version, then and only then will we release the details to the press”. Instead, everyone had a story, and they ran with it!

We learn something everyday, don’t we?

that’s my point of view………..Have a good night……..God Bless America…….Our military forces overseas, the Seals  who took Bin-Laden out once and for all, our president and a special prayer for all those who lost friends, loved ones and co-workers on 9-11.

About THE HORTON JOURNAL A POLITICAL PERSPECTIVE

I am 62 years old. I've been blogging for several years. I am into History and Politics as well as currant events. The latter being the main issues covered on these pages. I was a Community Advocate for twenty years, and a volunteer aide in a State Representatives Office in my home state of Michigan. While I have basically ceased these activities, I still watch the world around me closely and report on it as much as I can, which I might add is often. I encourage comments on my Blogs. I only ask that we keep our opinions clean and without insults threats or intimidation. I hope you take time to read The Horton Journal, and look forward to your comments.
