I have like many of you have been paying close attention to the Republicans bidding for the White House.  I must confess that I am having serious reservations with this campaign. You see, I can’t figure out who is telling the truth. Mr. Perry or Mr. Romney?  Now, we all know Mr. Perry’s position on Social security.  Or do we. That is, he keeps changing and tweaking his position from one State to the other. But, the original position went something like this. That Social Security was a fraud, nothing more than a Ponzi scheme and that the whole thing should be abolished.  He said that it was a violation of the Constitution of The United States, and that the issue of Social Security is a matter of individual States. It is not and should not be a Federal matter.  apparently, Mr. Romney had his issue as well with Social Security, and felt that it was a major problem and burdon as well. I don’t think he was as radical on the matter, but he was radical enough to cause great concern.  Then of course there is this HCV inoculation thing going on with Mr. Perry.  Seems the good Governor of Texas took it upon himself to issue an Executive Order to have every school aged girl 12 years and older inoculated for HCV, and that he did so without even considering the Texas State Legislature.  Now he has confessed that he over reacted, and that he should have gone to the Legislature but he’s all about preventing Cervical Cancer, and saving lives.  So you see, that just explains it all away.  Dictatorial mandate is OK, as long as it’s all about saving lives!

Then the campaign moves to California where both candidates start tweaking their position.  Realizing they are getting the voters upset, primarily over Social Security, they begin to tone down their radical agenda to appease the voters.  Now its off to Florida, where they really tone down the radicalism, their positions are altered, revised, revamped to once again appease the voter.  OK, so what happens when they move on down the trail to a more conservative Right wing thinking State?  Do they return to the original version, the one where Social Security is nothing more than a Ponzi scheme that is unconstitutional and therefore abolished?

Yet it seems, that so many people endorse this new-found, loud mouth, far right, radical, in your face, non-compremising political approach to things. Meanwhile, the whole country is going down the tubes and the Tea Party that is supposed to be such a great breath of fresh air, persists in stalling any legislation coming out of the Obama White House.

I might add, that these are the same people who if they take over the legislative process in The United States will, without hesitation see to the demise and destruction of Social Security. Also, they will dump Medicare, Medicaid, Food Stamps and anything else that resembles Social Safety Net.s, Welfare, or Public Assistance.  Of course, the hidden agenda, the one becoming more evident as their campaign goes is to assure that President Obama remains a one term President.

This all boils down to that most politicians are running around out there in Campaign land telling the voter whatever it is the voter wants to hear, in order to gain their vote.  That’s it, that’s all there is to it. They just want your vote. After he/she gets into the White House there is not much you can do about that.  Is there?  I have said before, and I say again….It is not what they say that bothers me most……it’s what they are not saying that really disturbs me.  It should disturb you as well.  We need to think about this as election day approaches.

Truth?…… What is Truth?….. There are some serious issues coming out in this campaign.  And in case you are wondering, as this the Democrats start to roll out their campaign, what lies and half-truths will they be telling just to garner our vote.  We the people need to be watching, now more than ever.

That’s my point of view…..I look forward to hearing yours…..Mean while have a great day and as usual………..God Bless America!

I was a Community Advocate for twenty years, and a volunteer aide in a State Representatives Office in my home state of Michigan. While I have basically ceased these activities, I still watch the world around me closely and report on it as much as I can, which I might add is often. I encourage comments on my Blogs. I only ask that we keep our opinions clean and without insults threats or intimidation. I hope you take time to read The Horton Journal, and look forward to your comments.
