During the course of the past several days there have been a series of events in Iran that might point to espionage. The first event was an explosion that occurred at an Iranian Military base and resulted in the death of 17 members of the Iranian military. The second event was an explosion at a nuclear facility which has been suspected of manufacturing uranium for nuclear armaments for Iran. It is not known if there were casualties in this event. While the story has been confirmed, the Iranian government has made non of its usual radical announcements, despite the suspicions that Israel is behind both events and are thus suspected of engaging in some kind of covert action to retard Iran’s efforts to go nuclear.
Israel did announce and confirm that some explosion in fact did occur, but quickly withdrew its statement from the media. No real mention of the events has been announced in the United States. In short, everyone is mum, and standing back, at least for the moment that is.
British news sources have also indicated that explosions occurred, reminding the reader that Israel had warned Iran that Nuclear capability would not be tolerated and would be seen as a threat to Israel. However, Israel has made no announcement that they were behind any of the explosions that occurred in Iran.
It is obvious that the events that have occurred are hush-hush for now. Any admission of guilt, if you will, would result in immediate threats of retaliation, and of course eventual escalation. The entire Mid-East is a tinder box. Egypt is in the midst of transformation. Islamic control would assuredly not be compatible toward Israel. Jordan is not hostile toward their Israeli neighbor, but in the event of military confrontation they would not run to the rescue. In short, no one wants to see the Mid-East go up in all out turmoil. A full-scale military conflict focused on Israel is the last thing anyone wants to see. No doubt it would be just a matter of time before the whole world would be drawn into the conflict.
But there is no sense what-so-ever in keep it all hushed up. People should know what is going on around them. This thing has been kept under wraps, and I am sure for good cause.
Of course I look forward to your view points on this issue and any others published on The Horton Journal. Until I hear from you, Have a Great Day.
