Newt Gingrich ………. Scary!!!

Back in the day, when Rick Snyder was running for Governor of Michigan, I said “You know, it’s not what Mr. Snyder is saying that bothers me.  It’s what he’s not saying”!  I have to admit that’s what bothers me about Mitt Romney.  However, in this campaign, he is no doubt the lesser of the evils out there who would be President.  Regardless of the ground swell for Newt Gingrich he carries a lot of baggage that would in the run for the White House become a major problem problems for Republicans.  That is unless you attach the hysteria process, which is the one thing that would concern me if he actually did, or correct me, does become the Republican candidate.

They say Florida is the big banana here. If Newt pulls a rabbit out of his hat and wins Florida, then the campaign is truly up in the air. But, on the other hand there are those who say if Romney pulls one over on ol’ Newt, then it’s “Game Over”. Romney has it in the bag on momentum alone. Well, I am not sure about that, because regardless of what the polls say there is a lot of division within the Republican Party and a Romney victory might create kaos.  But the problem here is that if Newt Gingrich pulls off the miracle, then the whole Party might implode.

In short this thing ain’t over yet.  That said however, is not what has me concerned these days, especially when one considers the mentality of ordinary-in-the-street-Republicans. These are the folks who are Conservative by nature, want stability in the country and want more than anything to assure that their retirement assets are protected.  They are a happy lot, retired, and enjoying their twilight years, only to be awakened during political campaigns. Oh, I might add they are not Millionaires!  Then there is this far right gang of Tea Party supporters who have fallen hook line and sinker for a bunch of millionaires who have since day one been out to get Obama, and formed their own little gang to make sure they create enough problems to stall the whole country. In their book there is no such thing as compromise, and the mentality is simple here…..My Way Or The Highway!

They are right up there being promoted by the likes of Sean Hannady and Rush Limbaugh, and dominate every conversation by talking over anyone who dares disagree and have no labeling    anyone who opposes their point of view as crazed Liberal, Far Left or Communist.  Sean has a way of dealing with anyone who dares come on his program who disagrees, he hits his red button and proceeds to insult your integrity, and sincerity as a human being.  Of course you can’t respond.

At issue right now though is Newt Gingrich. He was rejected from Congress because of his behavior, he is an outright bully, has a tendency to run off at the mouth and worst of all he reacts to a crisis immediately without considering the consequences.  An example was throwing the Press off his plane because he did not like the way they treated him.  Get your own damn ride he told them. Well, now, if you want to win a campaign you have to be able to get your word out, and to do that, you must have the press in tow. No Press, no coverage, no coverage and well……you get the point.

Now, lets imagine a crisis.  How might Newt handle that one?  Cool heads prevail, or a nuke right down the wrong throat. How will he handle Congress, threats and intimidation?  Or compromise?  How in fact will Mr. Gingrich handle the American people? What about you, and Me. What about our families? Are we talking about a sure hand at the helm here? Or are we talking about a bully at the pulpit, and panic in the west Wing?

Newt Gingrich is a problem and in my opinion he should not be President.  He already has shown us what happens when he’s at the helm.  Scary isn’t it?

Have a great day ………..and if your  Florida, don’t forget to vote.

About THE HORTON JOURNAL A POLITICAL PERSPECTIVE

I am 62 years old. I've been blogging for several years. I am into History and Politics as well as currant events. The latter being the main issues covered on these pages. I was a Community Advocate for twenty years, and a volunteer aide in a State Representatives Office in my home state of Michigan. While I have basically ceased these activities, I still watch the world around me closely and report on it as much as I can, which I might add is often. I encourage comments on my Blogs. I only ask that we keep our opinions clean and without insults threats or intimidation. I hope you take time to read The Horton Journal, and look forward to your comments.
