Who cares about what a politicians position is? Who cares about whether this candidate or that candidate can make a realistic, rational decision in the midst of a crisis without going off half cocked? Who cares whether or not this candidate or that candidate has the leadership capabilities and qualities to lead this country? Do we actually care about the moral pricipals of a given candidate?

Apparantly not.  Because all we hear after Mitt Romney’s narrow victory in Maine and the 17 day streach before the next set of primaries in both Arizona and Michigan, is that all the canidates are out raising millions in cash for the next leg of their campaign that they are sure is going to upset the apple cart incumbantcy of President Barrack Obama.  Of course there is enough blame on both sides of the political tracks, because Obama himself is out begging and collecting as many millions as everyone else in his second bid for the White House.  It has become the unfortunate trend.

The media figures and scores the candidates of both political parties not on the issues, not on their abilities to lead, and certainly, no longer do we consider the moral ethics of any of the candidates.  But instead, we judge the candidates ability on the amount of money he/she can raise.  Whoever is raising the most money is the leader of the pack, and summerly given the nod as the candidate to run against the incumbant president. Something, I say, something is wrong, very wrong with this here picture!

I don’t get it! I don’t like it! and something is rotten here to the core. Here you have Newt Gingrich running for the highest office in the land. A man who went after President Bill Clinton for his moral and sexual behavior in the White House. We all remember the Lewinsky incident.  Gingrich had no problem questioning the moral ethics of this President. What none of us knew however, was that ol’ Newt himself was tangled in a web of deceit withen his own family, asking his then wife for an open marraige where he could play the field, and maintain the marage of a phony marriage in front of the voting public.  Now that his campaign has revisted that issue, Newt figures thats all wrong, it was all built on lies, and his wife was quite aware of his trist. But we now know that’s not true either, because she was not aware that Newt had already been playing the field for six years before letting his first wife know. But Newt is the man for the job.

They all say that Romney is the man. He is the representative of the people and for the people and in November we the people are expected to vote for Mitt based on his representative qualities. Yet he’s not concerned about the poor because there is a safety net there for the truly poor, however that is supposed to be defined. The Rich are all well in hand and doing just fine. But Mr. Romney is very concerned about the Middle Class. You see they need to get back to work. He talks all proud now about the rebirth of the American Auto Industry. But that was not the case when they were asking for loans in an effort to save the whole industry from going under because of a Housing crisis and Resession brought on by the stupidity of Congressional Legislation. But Mitt….He opposed any bailout of the auto industry, remember?.  Now that they were successful, he thanks God for jobs coming back and the auto workers in MICHIGAN…doing such a great job.  Need we remind the voter.  Just how concerned is Mitt about the middle class AUTO worker, or those who were or are middle class struggling everyday in the Great Lakes State just to make ends meet.

Oh, but these are nothing but the issues. That’s all they are. Just the issues. Morality, ethics, and ability, as well as a steady hand at the helm mean nothing, absolutly nothing in the real scheme of things. Why?  Because you see My fellow Americans today, campaigns are all about how much money you can raise and how well you can twist a lie.

Campaign 2012 dredges on. And, it’s only February!

Have a great day and as usual God Bless America!

I am 62 years old. I've been blogging for several years. I am into History and Politics as well as currant events. The latter being the main issues covered on these pages. I was a Community Advocate for twenty years, and a volunteer aide in a State Representatives Office in my home state of Michigan. While I have basically ceased these activities, I still watch the world around me closely and report on it as much as I can, which I might add is often. I encourage comments on my Blogs. I only ask that we keep our opinions clean and without insults threats or intimidation. I hope you take time to read The Horton Journal, and look forward to your comments.
