Oil Speculators Are Becomming A Major Problem!

An Amon in Iran threatens the United States or makes some negative statement against the United States. An angry mob in Afghanistan responds to an accidental burning of the Koran. The United States opposes the development of Nuclear capability by Iran which could be used to develop Nuclear weapon.  The U.S. says that it is capable of handling any blocking of the Hormuz straights, Iran threatens the United States. Unrest in Syria, Mid East turmoil on a daily basis. President Obama refuses the allowance of a pipeline across the United States. All of these factors and more are persistent in driving up the price of Crude Oil. That of course leads to increased gasoline prices at the pump across the United States.

The decisions of increased prices though are becoming more and more a major concern. They are not set by markets, or market volume. They are not set by supply. They are not set by demand. They are set by what appears to be the gut reaction of oil speculators.  I said gut because that is what I ment. The Gut. Not the market, nothing based, it seems on true statistical data at the moment. But because some Amon in Iran or Iraq, or Afghanistan burps. Or China and Russia decide that they are not going to oppose the whole sale man slaughter of citizens of syria. The cost of crude goes through the roof.

That is the problems with the cost of oil today. It is not the fault of the President. it is not the fault of Obama or Bush, to clarify that statement. It is not the fault of Congress,, the Senate or the House, for that matter.  It is not the fault of the oil industry either. It is the fault of the Speculators who are gouging the American consumer on a daily basis, and it is not at all necessary.

The fact is that the U.S. now imports only a mere 43% of its oil from overseas. Most of the oil in the United States is now being drilled right here in The United States. In a few more years, that percentage will increase.  We have the oil and now we are developing newer methods at obtaining it.

The problem is Speculators nd it is time to call their bluff and put a stop to all this nonsense and return the pricing of oil to the Feds rather than allowing Speculators to set the price on a daily basis. What is going on here is wrong and the American consumer is paying the tab making the oil industry billions a year in profit, while we go deeper into the hole.

I will be the first to admit that i do not have a full understanding of how all this works. But i know enough that when I hear the phrase speculators are setting the price that the results are devastating. It is just another factor in what I have in the past termed the Greed Factor. That is when the richest of the rich want even more from the consumer because of their self greed and wipe out yet another weaker component of American Society. Why? Because they want it all. All of it, every little morsel of money out there. That’s why we went into the recession in the first place. It was manufactured just for us. You and me. Why? Greed. The Housing market fell, the economy fell, the Auto Industry nearly died, but the Richest of the Rich made wild profits.  They are at it again, through the speculators and using that to grab up even more.

It is time for Americans to rise up and say enough. Tell your Congressman, as well as your Senator it is time to get a grip, and clean up the Speculators mess now. Stop their persistent increase in oil prices based only on events that are or are not happening overseas. Just because some clown says this or that does not justify the wide wild increases in oil prices. The root cause to all this speculatory nonsense is greed. it’s time for our government to take action. If not, then here is something I can assure the reader. This is not a prediction, it is not based on speculation either. It is however based on nothing more than an ounce of common sense. We will have yet another recession.  This one though just might make the previous one look like a Sunday School picnic.

That’s my point of view. I look forward to hearing yours as well. Until then…….Have a great night and

As usual…………………God Bless America!

About THE HORTON JOURNAL A POLITICAL PERSPECTIVE

I am 62 years old. I've been blogging for several years. I am into History and Politics as well as currant events. The latter being the main issues covered on these pages. I was a Community Advocate for twenty years, and a volunteer aide in a State Representatives Office in my home state of Michigan. While I have basically ceased these activities, I still watch the world around me closely and report on it as much as I can, which I might add is often. I encourage comments on my Blogs. I only ask that we keep our opinions clean and without insults threats or intimidation. I hope you take time to read The Horton Journal, and look forward to your comments.
