Take it to the people……that’s what this President will have to do to have a chance at winning re-election to the White House.  As it stands right now, President Obama is  in serious trouble.  His numbers are falling, and while he might not be in a free fall as of yet, he could have that happen if he does not step up to the plate now, and change the tactics of his campaign. The strategy he is currently engaged in is not working. It has not worked from day one, and he should hold his advisors responsible for the failed strategy the campaign is engaged in.

In my opinion, for what it’s worth, there are three basic changes that need to be made right now.

1.  The president should stop attacking Mitt Romney and his business ventures.  It looks like sour grapes, and is not justification for the voter to disqualify Romney for President.

2.  Take it to the people.  Mr. Obama needs to clarify why his agenda has not gotten anywhere. That is because there are those in this Congress who have been out to get him from the very beginning of his presidency.  He was called a liar in front of Congress in public, and on National Television. Then there was Mitch McConnell who made it clear that Congress would do nothing that might get Obama re-elected President.  From that day forward, anything with even a hint of Obama support has been stalled or gone down the crapper, even if it was good for the Nation.  Remind the American people that this past recession was not the creation of the Obama White House,  This recession hit under the Bush Administration. The Auto Industry went under while the Bush Administration was at the helm, The Housing crisis hit while the Bush Administration was at the Helm. Fannie May and Freddie Mac, happened while Bush was in the White House. And, the massive debt was out of control long before Obama took up house-keeping at the White House. (That’s an old farmers phrase), It was the result of the war effort, that cost America Billions, and rolled this country into the largest deficit ever.  The largest recession since the Depression of the 1930’s was the result of the Bush machine. It was not the fault of this President.

3.  Take responsibility. Admit to mistakes in judgement, arrogance, and failings of a first term administration. That’s OK, no one in their right mind would dare attack you for admitting your human.  But make it abundantly clear, that Congress did nothing to support your efforts to get us out of this economic crisis.  Instead, make it clear that they sat there in the Halls of Congress, awaiting the failure of this administration, even if it ment the total demise of The United States of America!

Finally, I would advise this president to make it clear, that while our economic picture is in the recovery mode, the dangers that lurk before us on the International front are serious.  It took us many years to get in to this economic mess.  Assure the American people that it will take more than a mere four years to get out of it.  Make it also clear that Romney knows that and so does Congress.

However, this president can not make this in to some class warfare campaign. He can not draw a race card, he can not go on a Pitty Party, and he can not relinquish responsibility. He must take the bull by the horns and tell the American People the facts.  Any other recourse, any other direction, means that in January 2013 Mr. Obama, and family and all will be returning to Chicago!

That’s my point of view….I look forward to yours, and hope that you will continue to watch this Blog for continued coverage of Campaign 2012.

Have a great day, and as usual……….God Bless America!

I am 62 years old. I've been blogging for several years. I am into History and Politics as well as currant events. The latter being the main issues covered on these pages. I was a Community Advocate for twenty years, and a volunteer aide in a State Representatives Office in my home state of Michigan. While I have basically ceased these activities, I still watch the world around me closely and report on it as much as I can, which I might add is often. I encourage comments on my Blogs. I only ask that we keep our opinions clean and without insults threats or intimidation. I hope you take time to read The Horton Journal, and look forward to your comments.
