President Obama called President-elect Enrique Pena Nieto to congratulate him on his victory. While the release from the White House listed several topics one topic not mentioned was the drug cartel issue and the persistent border problems as well. The two leaders reaffirmed a close bilateral partnership based on mutual respect and shared responsibility, the White House said in a Press release.

However, with the border leaking like a sife, and drug violence often leaking over onto US soil nothing was said about dealing with this issue at all.  I often wonder what it is that cause’s the United States to tolerate the criminal activity and illegal migrant entry on to U.S. soil.  This is not just a problem for the Obama administration, the Clinton as well as Bush Administration often looked the other way as well.  No, this is a joint party responsibility.  At a time when Americans are screaming for something to be done about a real issue, our own government persists in just looking the other way avoiding the reality that our borders are being breached each and every day.

Now President Obama has given amnesty to anyone who has been in The United States for two years. Has stopped both Arizona and New Mexico as well as California from being able to do anything about illegal immigrants, because it has been made clear that the Federal Government will do nothing when offenders are turned over to them.

Federal agents, it seems, who dare try to enforce the law might end up in a prison cell themselves as two agents did after shooting a high level drug cartel leader.  When it comes to our Southern border Homeland Security seems not at all interested in assuring American safety.  Now Airports are a different thing. High level, top-notch security measures are a daily occurence. Screened probed, X-Rayed and whatever else is desired is routine.  Protest and your slammed into a clear plastic display cell for everyone to see what happens to those who dare contest security measures at the airport. Most of those treated to this display of Homeland Security are nothing more than Ma and Pa American citizens. They have nothing to do with terrorism, not a danger to a flea.  But let a Drug dealer from a Mexican cartel start shooting up the streets in Arizona and everyone looks over the rainbow.

Thousands upon thousands of good decent people have come to this country and became American Citizens the right way. Legal and above-board. But, for some reason, Hispanics are supposed to have some special status. Now we want to give them citizenship cart blanch almost no questions asked.  I am not against Hispanic persons. I just feel that they too should have to go through the same process as others who want to own the status of American Citizen.

I just don’t think that should be too much to ask.

Have a great day and as usual………………God Bless America!

I am 62 years old. I've been blogging for several years. I am into History and Politics as well as currant events. The latter being the main issues covered on these pages. I was a Community Advocate for twenty years, and a volunteer aide in a State Representatives Office in my home state of Michigan. While I have basically ceased these activities, I still watch the world around me closely and report on it as much as I can, which I might add is often. I encourage comments on my Blogs. I only ask that we keep our opinions clean and without insults threats or intimidation. I hope you take time to read The Horton Journal, and look forward to your comments.
