This is difficult for me to admit Folks, but Rush and Sean are right. Tonight’s debate might change the course of the campaign. If Mr. Romney can hold his own, is up front with the American people, gives the impression that he actually has some compassion for the American people, and is able to present a plan to resolve the economic mess, that we confront in the near future, he might turn his campaign into the wind. If not, and his ratings continue to fall, he might be finished. that is the talk of the day all over Talk Radio.
However, it should be noted that the Radio Talk Boys are already getting ready to explain their way out of this mess. After all guys, it is survival of the fittest, and they do not want to painted to deep into a corner if their man is about to lose his bid for the White House. One thing is for sure, they do not want their own ratings to slip.
Here’s what I have noticed. Throughout the campaign, it has been evident that Far Right Conservatives have never been all that happy with Mitt. Reason being that he might be able to be swayed away from the right on certain issues. So, as an Insurance Card they brought in Paul Ryan a tough Tea Party Conservative to guard over Mr. Romney to make sure he tows the line. As Romney numbers began to fall, Talk Radio, while still supportive and protective, are still preparing the way for a Romney fall, by clarifying that anyway the ball falls on this first debate, the Liberal Media will paint Obama as the winner. As the campaign goes forward, with Romney spilling points, Conservatives will paint a picture of a losing campaign blaming it all on the Liberal Media.
I was listing to a radio show today that is neutral in its presentation. The guy is a Republican from what I understand but, without using insults and intimidation, he allows people to have their say. He was attacked by one listener as one-sided, unfair, and of course Liberal. Now, if the show were all about the Right, the Conservative Agenda, and everyone was beating up on any Liberal who dared to call the show, that was fair and neutral. Another show spent all it’s time playing paranoia by clarifying that Republicans would lose the debate because the Liberal Media will call Obama the winner no matter what.
The reality is that there are a whole lot of people still on the fence. They have been saying all day they are waiting for this debate, and that it is THIS DEBATE that might turn the table, and cause them to vote Republican! So, this election is not……I repeat…..Not over yet. It leans very much on the performance of Mitt Romney. It is his night! He could win or lose this campaign based on his presentation and performance tonight. And I might add, I have seen the so called liberal media hand the WIN to a Republican. I do not think for a minute, that CBS, NBC, or ABC will hand Obama the victory just because!
The point spread is not that far apart. The polls are tight, very tight. The margins of error are close. That means that the campaign could sway toward Romney or Obama.
I have also heard that some 85 million Americans will gather around their televisions tonight. To them this is an important election. To them, it has nothing to do with who raises the most money. It has nothing to do with Republican or Democrat. It has everything to do with the economy. It has everything to do with jobs, good paying jobs, and who has the best plan to restore America to its rightful place of World Economic Leadership. To them it is not a matter of Black vs. White. It’s all about the future. It’s all about their role in the Recovery, and whether the playing field will be fair, or whether they, the middle class and the poor will end up paying the Bill for the Sins of Wall St.
That’s what this Debate is all about. Now, all we have to do is wait for the answers.
That’s my point of view, and I look forward to your insights as well. Until then, Have a great night, and ……..Now what did I do with that Pop-Corn.
