MITT ROMNEY WINS PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE …..HANDS DOWN!

I don’t think there is anyone alive on the planet who is not aware of what happened last night. Mitt Romney debated the President of the United States and won. It was a Hands Down decision, that no one would dare contest.  Obama was in trouble from the beginning as an aggressive, up-front, in-your-face Mitt Romney came out punching leaving the President gasping on the mat.  The national as well as international audience was left gaping as the president rose up, and tried to counter the devastating blow, but he was never able to catch his stride. As the late Howard Cassell might have said,  ‘After the first punch the mighty Barrack Obama was down for the count. He stumbled to his feet, wobbling every-which-a-way, and took one hit after another from Big-Bad Mitt Romney’. The great Sports caster might have continued, ‘ It was obvious from the opening round that Obama, the great communicator, was not well prepared for Mitt, he stumbled and fumbled throughout the debate, but regardless of the megar effort that he made, he was never able to catch his stride. And in the end the Mighty Barrack Obama, the champion of the people stumbles one more time and fell to the mat’.

However, it was obvious that something was wrong from the beginning. I sat there watching and realized that the President was not with it. He fidgeted, bowed his head, and seemed lost for words in his attempts to counter a well prepared Romney.

The President never mentioned the 47% of the electorate that Romney had written off. He let Romney get away with a statement that he would represent all the people. He allowed Mr. Romney to completely change his platform.  He never confronted the candidate on his stand on Social Security. He never challenged Romney on his real commitment to  Medicare. He allowed Romney to spew figures and statistics with nothing more than a mild  “I disagree with you”. The president was able to challenge Mr. Romney a little bit by saying that the math he was presenting just did not add up.

It seems that so much of what Mitt Romney said last night is not consistent to what he has been saying on the campaign trail. He believes for example that entitlements are a form of welfare. They should be trimmed, pushed back, and that eligibility tightened. He does not see government as in any way obligated to the people. He will permit Social Security and Medicare now only because so many baby boomers are going to be dependant upon the programs, but as soon as 2013, the proposals will be brought in designed to cripple Social Security as well as Medicare. The overall conservative plan is to eliminate them and or let the States handle the poor, out of their pocket, with nothing from the federal Government.

He will boost the military, increase weapons manufacturing, and re-establish the United States as the Bully next door.  He’ll do this when despite every signal available shows a need for the U.S. to trim back on its obligations as Peace Keeper in the Middle East.

The truth is that his obligation to the Middle Class is very little.  Middle Class taxes will rise while Millionaires will realize tax cuts.  Wall Street will see a reduction in regulatory guidelines and be permitted to do as they please, and run rampant, once again taking advantage of Middle Class and poor persons.

As for Obama Care, Romney will repeal the whole thing replacing it instead with a similar plan now being dubbed Romney Care.

This was the sucker punch delivered to President Obama during this first debate. Romney merly changed his position, and told the American People what they wanted to hear. The president was un prepared for it. As a result Barrack Obama took one hit after another, and left bleeding walked from the stage.

The tactic worked.  I fear that in the coming days the numbers will reflect it as well. This debate. The first debate, was too important to lose. What is worse, if this President is not able to counter this hit quickly, it might cost him the election.

That’s my point of view……….I look forward to your insights as well. Until then have a great day and as usual………..God Bless America!
