Well, it’s all down to the wire now, and now the mud is being slung every-which-a-way!  The panic is not from the Democrats though, at least that is not what I am seeing. It is coming right out of the Republican Conservative Right, who has suddenly taken off the gloves and is slinging slim all over the place almost, it seems, in desperation.  I think they may be seeing something that does not tickle their fancy right now.

What they are seeing is a sudden stall in the Romney machine. He just can not get beyond 48-49%, despite his very best efforts.  Republicans want Ohio, they are losing it. They want Wisconsin, but that is not moving fast enough in their direction either. They want Michigan, but Michigan maintains its favor toward President Obama.

Republicans claim that Obama had four years, and he failed.  Well when President Obama became President the auto industry was dead in the water. Romney opposed any bail out.  The President endorsed the bail-out, and now, the auto industry is working hard and chugging away.  Suppliers are chugging too, and that equates to thousands of jobs.  Now say what you want but that there is the facts.  Slowly, yes, I said slowly the gears of the American economy are starting to move forward again.  Republicans say that is not enough.  They say the economy would have been rocking if they had the helm.  But the facts are is that it took us a long time to get into this mess, and it’s going to take us some serious time to get out of it. The trick is, the big trick is getting people back to work again. You see, workers pay taxes, and those tax dollars will go a long way into paying off the deficit.

The facts are that if Congress had not put the skids on the whole country by stalling all any legislation that might get America moving again, we would have been a mite bit further along in this sluggish economy.  But, Mitch McConnell clarified that Republicans should not pass any legislation that might get THIS President re-elected.  As a result, anything with a hint of Obama written on it died in Congress.  In my opinion that not only equates to breach of the Peoples trust, but treason.  They risk the well-being of the United States of America for one cause.  That cause was to get President Obama out of office at all costs. They did not care about anything but that goal. They did not care about you. They did not care about your well-being.  They cared less about the economy, the well-being of this country, or anything else for that matter.

Now, couple that with the likes of the Tea Party and you have a formula for disaster.  They would not pass anything that cost a red dime. They even told their own constituency they didn’t care what they said. They put us in Washington, and now by God we are going to do our job whether you like it or not!  “So, how’s that Tea Party gang doing for ya anyway”?

Now, Republicans, after hard committed study all night, I am sure, have come up with an angle to rip away at President Obama over Hurricane Sally.  They are saying emergency resources are not getting in fast enough. There are no generators, there’s no emergency equipment, and after a mere two days after the worst storm to hit the East coast since, get this now, since 1955, President Obama is not doing good enough.  But, they don’t stop there.  Remember when I said that in time these guys will run out of nasty things to say about all things Democrat. I then said it is then that they start feeding on their own.  Well it seems that Governor Cristie of New Jersey found out that the rumors about the sincerity of President Obama was true. The President called the good governor on several occasions during the weekend and the week of this horrific storm, and made it clear that anything he needed was there for him. Just call. The President told that to other Governors impacted as well. He made it clear.  If the wheels of FEMA do not move as they should, well, here’s my number you call me direct and I will step in. The wheels will move! So now, after Governor Cristie thanked the President for all his help, his out stretched hand with no strings attached, Republicans went on a total nut. How could he…..How dare he…..Traitor, Louse

You pander to the President for money.  Christie made it clear though. This has nothing to do with Politics, or the election. It has everything to do with the people in his State in dire, immediate, need. The president stepped up to the plate, and the president did his job. He put the election on the back burner.  To be fair, so too did Governor Romney. He put politics aside and did all he could to help those stricken by this tragic event.  But that is because that is the kind of heart that Governor Romney has. He has stopped everything before, and he did the exact same thing again to help those in need.   Why?  Because, it’s the right thing to do!  That’s why! And not one word about Politics from either of the candidates locked in what looks to be one of the closest elections  in the history of these United States. Wow!

This thing is not over yet.  Obama seems to hold a lead in key states, but it is a narrow lead. One that can change in a hot minute.  So what is important as this election winds down is that you, me, Mom, Pop, and all our neighbors have to step up and meet our obligation a citizens of The United States and hold true to our responsibility on November 7, 2012, and VOTE………….That is what we have an obligation to do. Your vote counts. It will, I assure you, count big time in this election.

But if you just sit there, like a lump on a pickle, and do nothing on election day, then hey!  You have no right to complain about something that YOU could have done something about!

This is a historical election, an election that might set the course of this country for generations to come. and it is more than just your obligation to speak your peace, but it is your civic duty to exercise your right, responsibility and obligation to Vote on election day!

I guess I said my peace.  I said just about all there is to say. The one thing I have not yet said is my Prediction as to who will win this election.  Well…………I don’t know. The polls, in my opinion are so close that they are not at all reliable.  S, at least for the next few days I hold my peace.  I can not project a winner. Not yet at least!

So, I will close this entry for now. Looking forward of course to hearing from you and your in sights on this election. Meanwhile, say a prayer for all those effected by hurricane Sally.  and of course May God watch over and bless The United States of America!

Have a good night!

I am 62 years old. I've been blogging for several years. I am into History and Politics as well as currant events. The latter being the main issues covered on these pages. I was a Community Advocate for twenty years, and a volunteer aide in a State Representatives Office in my home state of Michigan. While I have basically ceased these activities, I still watch the world around me closely and report on it as much as I can, which I might add is often. I encourage comments on my Blogs. I only ask that we keep our opinions clean and without insults threats or intimidation. I hope you take time to read The Horton Journal, and look forward to your comments.
