A LOOK AT THE TSARNAEV BROTHERS

It seems that a complex story is starting to emerge regarding the Tsarnave brothers. Both we know, are of Chechen origin and lived in Tokmok, Kyrgyzstan before moving to the United States in 2002 when both were children. The family, including both brothers settled in Cambridge, Mass. According to leading news sources, details regarding the suspects of the Boston Marathon bombings are still emerging. However, the most interesting issue just emerging, is that the FBI was aware of the older brothers Islamic ties, and apparently, after an interview a year ago, was not on any Federal watch list.

Tamerian Tsarnaev who died in  shoot out with law enforcement officials on Friday was pronounced dead at Israel Deconess Medical Center. He had bullet wounds and burns, and might have been run over by a car during the shoot out with police. Reportedly had explosives and a trigger on his body.

Apparently, born in Russia or Chechnya; became a legal U.S. resident in 2007 and had recently become a United States citizen.

He studied accounting at Bunker Hill Community College, according to the school. He was an accomplished left-handed heavyweight boxer who trained at martial arts studio in Allston and had said he hoped to represent the United States someday.

He had recently posted a You Tube video indicating interest in radical Islamic ideologies.

According to neighbors, Tamerian was married and had a daughter. He was arrested once for domestic abuse.

Dzhokhar “Jahar” A. Tsarnaev, age 19 …Wearing a white baseball cap he is the one the FBI says who put down a backpack in front of the Forum restaurant minutes before the bomb exploded. It was the second blast near the finish line of the April 15 Boston Marathon.

Dzhokhar was born in kyrgyzstan but according to Kyrgyz officials, left when he was eight years old. He too had become a U.S. citizen.

He was a student at UMass at Dartmouth, according to the school, and at some point lived at the school dormitory there.

He was captain of the wrestling team at Cambridge Rindge & Latin School, the public high school where he graduated from in 2011. He was a life guard at Harvard pool, where his supervisor said he was a responsible employee.

Friends and neighbors said he was a quiet, friendly and responsible individual, “a normal American kid”, who liked sports, skateboarding and rap music.  Certainly, it seems, not the profile of an Islamic terrorists.

Today the 19-year-old suspect lays in the same hospital where his older brother was pronounced dead, fighting for his own life.

News sources report that he has awakened, and is undergoing limited interrogations.

Now though, the questions arise. What did the FBI know? When did they know it? Was the elder brother becoming more of a concern to Federal officials? And if he was, why then was he not the subject of more intense observation.  as news details emerge about his radical Islamic ties, and changing behavior, more questions are coming to the surface. Questions that all the public, especially those so effected by the events of Boston.

This story has not ended. It is all too obvious, that it is just beginning. I plan on bringing more to these pages, and as usual, look forward to your insights on this and any of the other issues of the day. Until then, Have a great day and as usual…………God Bless America!

About THE HORTON JOURNAL A POLITICAL PERSPECTIVE

I am 62 years old. I've been blogging for several years. I am into History and Politics as well as currant events. The latter being the main issues covered on these pages. I was a Community Advocate for twenty years, and a volunteer aide in a State Representatives Office in my home state of Michigan. While I have basically ceased these activities, I still watch the world around me closely and report on it as much as I can, which I might add is often. I encourage comments on my Blogs. I only ask that we keep our opinions clean and without insults threats or intimidation. I hope you take time to read The Horton Journal, and look forward to your comments.
