Conservative Republicans with Senator Ted Cruz leading the charge have launched yet another attempt to bring down Obama care  and they have made it quite clear that they are ready to hold the Federal Government hostage in an effort to get their way. They are willing to go this route even after being made aware that most of the Healthcare Reform Act, Obama care, is federally mandated. That is that it is automatically funded, even if the government goes into shutdown. That means Folks, that Obama care is funded just like that of social security and Medicare. So what’s the point?

And while the good senator is at it he might want to consider the economic impact of his shutdown. apparently Mr. Cruz and his Tea Party minions are not aware of the fact that our foreign creditors, like China and Japan, hold the cards here, and yes, via their investment in The United States all things real, they do have some skin in the game.  Now, while for at least now, there is no real expectation of reaction by these foreign markets  responding to any US shut down, at least not yet, all they have to do is burp, or even hic-up, for that matter and that could send a ripple effect across the big board that could have serious economic repercussions upon the United states. All they have to do is sell off just a minute portion of their assets, and that’s enough to create havoc throughout the international market. How about if they decide to just slow their buying pace, just a bit, until the crisis is over. The impact on this mere little display of market disdain could have some serious implications on the future clout of US influence on the International market. Give the Tea Party shutdown a couple of weeks and ….. well……can you say ECONOMIC TAILSPIN!!!

But that’s OK Folks, because Senator Cruz and the rest of the Tea Party Gang got it all figured out, after all they are the adults in the room. Can’t ya just hear it now in the cloak room.  I’ll tell you what…. If we don’t get what we want, when we want, how we want it, then we’ll….Well, we’ll — we’ll just shut the whole government down.  what’cha think of me now ?   Huhhhhh?

Well, here’s what most americans think.  87% of americans in fact think that shutting down the Federal Government just to make a point on Obama care is not an option on the table.  They are not at all in favor of it. But, the Tea Party can care less about what you think!  They said it themselves. Last year around this time one Tea Party Congressman said that he cared less what his constituents had to say. He was sent here to do a job, and he didn’t care what the folks back home said, he was going to do it anyway!

Ok, in as much that this whole mess is not about Obama care anyway, then what is it all about?  Well, the answer my friend is not blowing in the wind. There is no mystic, mysterious reason for all this Washington hoop-da-la.

The real cause for all this ruckus is nothing more than the elections of 2014 and 2016 respectfully.  It has noting to do with compassionate concern over the cost of medical care, and all the other calamity claims we have been fed since the birth of Obama care. It has nothing to do with economic turmoil, the budget or the budget deficit. It has everything about power. who gets the House, who get’s the Senate, and most important, who ends up in the Whitehouse in 2016.  They will lie, distort, rangle and weave, in every effort to get your vote on election day. As long as they win any angle will do. That’s it!  That’s all there is to it. It’s all about political power! And if they are elected, they will return to a Washington that is worse off than before.

That’s my point of view…..I look forward to your insights on this and all the issues of the day.  Until then, have a good one and as usual….God Bless America!
