If the reader reviews past articles over the last couple of years you have noted that I made mention of the “Systematic Elimination of the Middle Class”. Some friends chided me saying that I had no idea of what I was talking about. Others said something to the effect “Well, I don’t know about that”. Others were saying how do you go about eliminating an entire status group in The United States.
I would listen to radio commentators say that there no such elimination going on, despite the open campaign here in Michigan to cut retirement pensions, reduce unemployment benefits, and even to eliminate Unions. I am still amazed at the number of people who I see every day on the job who just don’t get it. They are watching the very life blood being sucked out of them and they just look the other way as if nothing is going on. But at the same time, medical care is on the way to being rationed. Social Security benefits are being attacked. Pensions, and retirement benefits are being reduced. People who invested in mutual funds, 401(K’s), are watching as their funds disappear in to the blue thin air. Wages are being systematically reduced, and the cost of living continues to rise.
Now, not long ago, I did one of my on the street surveys. I focused on the middle class around me. My question was simple, to the point, realistic, and something that any hard-working male loves to do. Take the family or just his/her spouse out to dinner. The question was how many times per year do you get to go out to dinner with your spouse or family? The answer, not much. We are lucky if we go out once a year. These people, most of them are making around $14.00 per hour (and more). The reason they don’t get out much any more, is that the cost of living is so high that everything goes into the Bill’s. Oh, I might add this survey was answered in this manner almost 100% .
Well, here we are and it is 2014. It is an election year. Almost all of the U.S. House and Senate are up for grabs. The Republicans are not focusing on the rich. They are focusing on the Middle Class. They focus on Social Security, and wages, the cost of living and the, are you ready?……The systematic elimination of the Middle Class.
But the liars that they are should be exposed. Because the facts are they are the ones out to kill Social security, and Medicare. They are the ones who said “and ……something has got to be done about these entitlements”. Those entitlements are Social Security, Medicare as well as unemployment benefits. These are the same people who came to office and supported anything and everything that catered to the rich, but did everything that they could to take everything they could from the middle class. These same people are the ones who voted NO on unemployment benefit extensions just a few days ago! They are not and never will be the advocate for the Middle Class that you are hearing them expose themselves to be.
The Democrats are just as much to blame. Obama care did nothing for the Middle Class. It killed their already acceptable Health Insurance plan, and replaced it with a plan that most doctors might very well reject. The cost of premiums is through the roof. I spoke with a co-worker friend of mine today he told me his premiums to cover his family is $600+ per month. That is half of his monthly income. So much for Medical Healthcare Reform. This same President offered up incentives to jolt the economy and sent out checks to everyone. Remember that? Then the next tax year hit you up for it as income. The Obama Group has watched as the cost of living sky rockets out of control. He increases Federal Taxes, and does nothing to reduce inflation. Instead he offers up a dumb plan to increase the minimum wage which will do absolutely nothing for low wage earners accept for increase their cost of living.
Wages are stagnate, taxes are increasing at Federal State and Local levels, but Obama thinks that all Americans are dumb. He figures that he will actually get us to vote Democrat again, after all this mess has been dumped on our plate. And you know what? That very well might be the case. If we the people, the voter do not pay attention, we could vote these same clowns right back into Washington and get more of the same.
Now Radio Commentators are admitting that the Systematic Elimination of the Middle Class is a real issue. It is actually happening. Look at McDonald’s, Burger King, Denny’s, Olive Garden, Red Lobster, and other Middle Class restaurants, They are losing on an average of 3% per year. At first economists and politicians blamed it on food quality, nutrition, service etc. But now, after the studies and polls, they know, and you know that the reason for the 3% hit is because we, the Middle Class can not afford to go out to eat anymore. These restaurants do not cater to the rich. The cater to Middle Class, working families, who look forward to getting out with their loved ones once or twice per month. That is their customer base. Without them they go under. Guess what?
So the fix is in. I said it two years ago, and now suddenly radio commentators are saying the same thing. where they been?
The time has come for people to realize that we need to change America. We the people have to go to the polls next November and make changes in Washington. We have to tell Democrats, Republicans and all the rest of them that their time is up. They are coming home. They had their shot and failed the people. Their tenure is herby terminated. We need to clarify that this nation is a nation of the people, by the people, and with a Congress that represents and answers to the people. That goes for the Tea Party as well. Most of these clowns, you heard me I said it CLOWNS, went to Washington and tried to shut down the whole country. Some folks back home had seen their behavior and told them that was not why they were elected. The Tea Party gang told their constituents, those who voted them into office that they could care less what they said, they came here with an agenda and they are going to accomplish that task. OK that task is not the constituent agenda, and they too should be shown the door.
There is only one group who can put a stop to all this silliness going on in our nations capital. That group is the people. Not some lobby, some special interest group. The people, the voters. These are the ones who can and I might add, must make a difference on election day. The very future of this nation depends on it.
