The Horton Journal is back on-line. The entire system crashed awhile back and there was nothing I could do to get it to work. It took my son several days to work the bugs out of it, and even then he had to put a whole new windows in. Quite the mess.

But we’re back. Nothing in the world like a blogger who can’t blog. That’s been me. To my readers I apologise. A lot is going on around the world. Seems things are getting worse faster than they are getting better. China is flexing her muscles as is Russia. North Korea is on the brink of nuclear capability, (now that’s scary), Iran is close to nuclear capability and that in itself has Israel up in arms. Russia moving on Crimea and Kiev has the whole world watching and wondering what Putin is really up too. Not to mention a Pope who has shaken the Catholic Church so hard that all the world is watching wondering what will happen next.

President Obama has a new scandal on the front burner. VA Hospitals are in such a dis-a-ray that treatment for our vets is worse than ever before. He acts like he was not aware of the crisis, and America wonders if not our veterans then just what is he aware of. Of course there is the ever-present shadow of Benghazi, Libia and now there are Congressional hearings going on.

There is also the domestic front. Health care still front and center, Gay marriage is a major topic. Inflation and the fear of yet another recession still linger as a real concern. Our government continues though to artificially prop up our economy. And no doubt, the United States is drifting when we consider our infrastructure. Our highways are a dismal wreak.

Our Congressional campaigns on in full force. It is hard to tell who is going to win this one. Democrats are trying to sound Republican. Republicans are trying to sound more to the Right, while the Tea Party competes with established Republicans to take the House from them as well as dash any chance at Democrat control. Campaign 2014 is a coin toss, but it would seem to me, considering the dismal performance of this Administration, and the di-a-ray in both the House and the Senate, that Republicans might have the edge. If Republicans retain the House, and take the Senate, then the road for Obama will not be as easy as it was before.

A whole slew of Senators and Representatives have said they have had enough. Among them Mike Rogers (R), of Michigan and Senator Carl Levin (D) from Michigan as well are leaving. Seats on both sides of the aisle are up for grabs all across the country. Some have said that the bickering and in fighting are just too much, and they can’t accomplish anything so they’re going home. Enough is enough.

Now that’s just a taste of what’s going on around the nation and the world. I got some homework to do, because it’s going to take some time to put all these potential stories together and put up some Blogs that are more individual in their attention span.

Until then, I can say this. It sure feels good to once again feel my fingers dancing across the key board of my repaired PC, and at least getting something published.

So folks, give me a little time. and we once again will return to The Horton Journal, trying hard to figure out just what’s going on in this crazy world of ours. No matter though how one looks at it, there being a motive for everything, we will continue to view it in a Political Perspective.

Have a great day.

As a post script let me remind you that this is the Memorial Day weekend. it is a special time, a special day of recognition for our veterans, those men and women who serve and have formerly served our nation. Memorial Day is the day where we as a nation and a people come together and pay tribute to those who not only served but to those who willingly, without hesitation gave of their very lives so that you and I, our friends and loved ones might be free.

That is why it is so important that we all pause to remember, and to thank those who have served this great nation. If not for them I would not be even permitted to compose this blog. To those who served our nation with such valor, I as a citizen of this nation thank you for your service and honor you on this special occasion, Memorial Day. God Bless you ………. No doubt you are our hero’s.

Have a great weekend Friends.

I am 62 years old. I've been blogging for several years. I am into History and Politics as well as currant events. The latter being the main issues covered on these pages. I was a Community Advocate for twenty years, and a volunteer aide in a State Representatives Office in my home state of Michigan. While I have basically ceased these activities, I still watch the world around me closely and report on it as much as I can, which I might add is often. I encourage comments on my Blogs. I only ask that we keep our opinions clean and without insults threats or intimidation. I hope you take time to read The Horton Journal, and look forward to your comments.
