The Mideast is in turmoil. Israel is at war with Hamas, Iraq is under attack by ISIS. Syria is in the midst of Civil War as well. Turkey is threatened. Jordan wonders when they will be hit. Egypt, is in one skirmish after another. Couple this with the mess on the Russian border, the downing of another Malaysian airliner, and the accusation’s being levied at Russia; after all it was their missile…..and there is no doubt that we are all in a fine fix.

The other day someone said all of the above to me, regarding the state of World events and followed up with “Obama needs to get off his duff and do something. Well, I beg to differ on that one. Considering this Presidents foreign policy record, I would just assume that he does us and the world a real favor and just keep out of it.

At a time when world peace is in its worse crisis since the 1960’s, the United States decides that in as much that Russia is down, they just have to get their righteous self into the UN picture by making all kinds of assumed charges against Russia shooting down this airliner, or being the supplier of the weapon that brought it down. I think it is what it is. It was an accident, a tragic event, but an accident. It might be a good way to call upon Russia to IX-Nay on the aggression over there, but throwing accusations around based on assumption, rumors, or politics to gain brownie points is over the top. Enough already.

This administration has done nothing more than launch conspiracies to overthrow countries, and governments and watched as those countries fall into to total Kos. There is no justified excuse for any nation, including Russia or the United States for that matter to interfere with the governments of other nations. We did that with Iraq, and look at that mess today.

Frankly, I have no idea what President Obama is trying to do. Frankly, I don’t think President Obama knows what he is trying to do.

All I want to do is encourage the idea of a world calming down, letting this lousy administration end, and elect a new president. One I would hope, has some idea of what is going on in the world, how to handle foreign affairs. A president who understands that we are not the world police, and one who can project to the world that we mean no harm toward anyone. A president who will make it clear that we stand beside Israel, the only democracy in the mid east. That we will take on our role as a world leader, and are prepared to stand up to the likes of China, Russia as well as N. Korea.

I want a president who will not apologize to the world because of our presence in the Mid east and our fight against World terrorism. Terrorists brought down those towers, killing thousands of innocent people. We responded, and made a pledge that terrorists will no longer rule the day on American soil.

I want a president who recognize’s when politics takes a back seat to tragic events. One who accepts responsibility, who realizes that he/she represents The United States of America, and her people. I want a president who understands that when they raised their hand, taking the oath of office, that they became the President of all the people, not a chosen few, a political party, or some special interest group.

I want our nation to once again return to those days of pride in the American Flag. where the pledge of alligence is a norm for every class room and every public event. Where all people have respect for our flag, because our flag represents a nation of Freedom, rights for all people, and hope for all the world. A nation where our flag flies from every porch, and store and institution, not as some government requirement but out of pure pride for this nation. One Nation, Under God, indivisible, with Liberty and justice for all.

Is that asking too much. Is that not what all Americans want?

That is why the up coming primaries and elections are so vital to this nation. we are at a turning point. This election might set the pace for the future of this entire nation. Whether the people want the right to freedom, free choice, Rights to worship, and to speak openly, freely, without fear or intimidation from those who disagree. A nation where public debate is seen as a breath of fresh air, not a violation of some special interests right.

We the people are charged with the privilege and responsibility to go to the polls and vote for those we want to represent us in our State Houses, as well as the Nations Capital. We the people are charged with the responsibility of studying the candidates and the issues on the ballot. We are charged with making what we perceive to be wise decisions based on fact. Our decisions should be based on what is best for this great nation.

When it is time for primaries, we need to be at the polls and vote. When election day comes we need to be at the polls to vote for those we want to represent us.

I am convinced that this election might be one of the most important elections in the history of this country.  The decisions we make in November might very well decide the destiny of the future of The United states of America.

Vote on election day!

I am 62 years old. I've been blogging for several years. I am into History and Politics as well as currant events. The latter being the main issues covered on these pages. I was a Community Advocate for twenty years, and a volunteer aide in a State Representatives Office in my home state of Michigan. While I have basically ceased these activities, I still watch the world around me closely and report on it as much as I can, which I might add is often. I encourage comments on my Blogs. I only ask that we keep our opinions clean and without insults threats or intimidation. I hope you take time to read The Horton Journal, and look forward to your comments.
