This up coming election day, November 2014 could very well mark one of the most important election days in the history of the United states.

I will be one of the first to say that I do not usually lean conservative, but in the case of the Obama Administration I have done just that. Usually, I lean more to a moderate Left, but sometimes now, I lean so far to the Right that I actually start wondering if there is something gone wrong with me. Not the case, I am sure, I just know a bad and very dangerous situation when I see one.

For me the big decision point was foreign Policy. this administration has dropped the football so many times in the last six years that most of us have lost count. Benghazi was a foreign policy disaster. Whats worse, the President and the administration lied to the American people, and seem to have gotten away with it. that in itself is a very serious offense.

This President has done everything to lock Congress out of the political equation. Another major sin, in a nation that aspires to three branches of government making all things then balance equal. Executive, Legislative and Judicial. When all three work in unison there is unmistakable governing balance. this President has ruled by executive order. This legislature has been unable, or unwilling to do anything about it. The Supreme Court has stayed off on the side lines again, unwilling if not unable to make judicial decisions truly based on. Thus The President has been permitted by those who are charged with representing the American people, to govern at will, in almost dictatorial power. There is something wrong with this picture.

This President has not responded to any International or National crisis in what would be a timely manner. That in itself could be a very dangerous situation for all of us as well as the security of the United states. The President releases five major, high crime, terrorists from Federal custody, in what many in Congress say was unconstitutional, because the President did not notify Congress within a thirty-day window that he was going to take such action. Withen one week ISIS began it trek across Iraq. This President just sat there, went on vacation as a matter of fact, and waited until ISIS had a firm hard hammer grip on Iraq and suddenly he decided it is time to respond. He even stalled around waiting before launching any missile attacks on ISIS, and I might add, based on what I am seeing the strikes are not all that effective, because a million dollar missile strikes a small band of men in the desert. Now if we were wiping out hundreds, OK, but a mere few, at the cost of thousands of tax payer dollars? Really?, I’m supposed to be all excited about US response to this ISIS threat. I don’t think so.

And now, theres Ebola. The virus has made it to the shores of The United States. And what is the response of our president? None, Nadda, not a word. What about Disease Control out of Atlanta? Nothing, Nadda. What about Emergency response to Dallas, Atlanta, and Washington DC dealing with, monitoring, and responding to this emergency situation, getting control before it gets out of control? Nothing, Nadda, not a word.  A few local health officials respond by saying, Calm down, relax, we got the ball. Uh huh, really, you got the ball? Seems like the ball got you. First the Feds should be all over this like fly’s. They should be on a plane, en route, assuming command. Nothing of the sort. The first thing that is done in a situation like this is isolation. To accomplish that the first thing you do is lock down entry points from the host country. In this case Liberia. Nothing of the sort occurred here. Liberia is allowed free access to the United States, after answering a few short questions. In the Dallas case the patient lied, never admitted that he had direct conduct with an active, infected Ebola patient. At the airport his temperature was taken. Big deal, he would not have had a fever at that point, he was not yet sick. Withen four days of arrival in the US though he was, and then begins spreading it all over the place. What should have been done when it got out of control in Liberia, was to restrict  any and  all entry into the United states of anyone from Liberia. Never happened, Nothing, Nadda!

And the horror stories go on and on.

And that Dear reader is exactly why, the up coming election in November 2014 might be considered the most important in American History. If Republicans take control of both the House and senate, they might, that is if they have the guts and fortitude, be able to rein in the President, take control of the fledging falling apart situation, and restore at least some sanity to our government before this president brings the whole nation to its knees.

So for Gods sake, and yours, please get out and vote, and make sure your friends get out and vote as well.

Our future, your future, the nation’s future might very well depend on your vote.

Have a great day and God Bless America!

I am 62 years old. I've been blogging for several years. I am into History and Politics as well as currant events. The latter being the main issues covered on these pages. I was a Community Advocate for twenty years, and a volunteer aide in a State Representatives Office in my home state of Michigan. While I have basically ceased these activities, I still watch the world around me closely and report on it as much as I can, which I might add is often. I encourage comments on my Blogs. I only ask that we keep our opinions clean and without insults threats or intimidation. I hope you take time to read The Horton Journal, and look forward to your comments.
