ONCE AGAIN THE PRESIDENT DROPS THE BALL…..THIS TIME IT’S EBOLA

Once again the President dropped the ball, this time it was EBOLA. Why? Because as is the usual case the president is more concerned with the political fall out than he is with a  major developing health crisis right here on our own shore. This being an election year he is more concerned with retaining a majority in Congress than he is assuring the American people that every effort is being made to handle a possible if not probable epidemic.

Here we have a full-blown EBOLA case in Dallas Texas and rather than deal directly with the CDC, and Home Land Security, he stalls on immediate action, and spends his time coming up with a political spin. Always on the campaign trail.

Of all the problems this country has faced during the entirety of this administration a break out of EBOLA in the United States would spell utter disaster for the entire country. This is not however a political issue. It is a major public health issue, and if by chance it gets out of control it will make AIDS look like a Sunday School picnic. As it is right now exposure to EBOLA is a direct contact issue, bodily fluids or touching the patient. But if it were to become an airborne virus it would then be a major issue. That is how virus survive, they need to expand their ability to join a host. Airborne is perfect. Meanwhile, the medical community has to be prepared for more cases of EBOLA, and have all their Ducks in a row. They must know what they are doing, how to do it, and assure that it is done correctly. There are no mistakes here. It is a must do-right-situation.

Second. When an epidemic of this nature explodes overseas, the first thing you do is lock down that country. You do not allow potential patients, that means any citizen of Liberia, to leave the country. This is a no brainer. Instead, our president is more concerned about his political and legal ramifications, and how he looks. That is not the issue. what is the issue is controlling the spread of EBOLA. He failed once again. He could have refused entry of any Liberian citizen as suggested by Home Land Security. obviously, that has been declined by president Obama, or else HLS would have already done this. He would have assured that all hospitals were ready for this possibility, but did not assure that it was a CDC priority. This witnessed by CDC’s failed attempt to assure the American public that CDC had everything in hand. Instead the response was canned, to attempt to block political fall out.

It is all too obvious that this president is more concerned with November than he is about the well-being of the American people.

Why am I not surprised?

Have a great day and Pray for America.

About THE HORTON JOURNAL A POLITICAL PERSPECTIVE

I am 62 years old. I've been blogging for several years. I am into History and Politics as well as currant events. The latter being the main issues covered on these pages. I was a Community Advocate for twenty years, and a volunteer aide in a State Representatives Office in my home state of Michigan. While I have basically ceased these activities, I still watch the world around me closely and report on it as much as I can, which I might add is often. I encourage comments on my Blogs. I only ask that we keep our opinions clean and without insults threats or intimidation. I hope you take time to read The Horton Journal, and look forward to your comments.
