Slowly the so-called liberal media is realizing that Republicans are going to chalk up big wins in the mid-term elections, and most likely will take control of the US Senate. That no doubt, puts a major hamper on President Obama and perhaps his remaining agenda. But, it can not be denied, Republicans have a solid lead with just a week to go before the national elections.
According to the New York Times, in a Sunday story headlined “A Republican Edge, With More stability”, latest polls project a solid lead for Republicans by some four percentage points. in more than enough states to finish with 50 seats, just one seat shy of the 51 needed to control the Senate. The toss-up state apparently is Georgia, where Republicans hold a slight lead. That win puts the control in the Republican court.
It could be a dangerous spot too. Because if Republicans come out shooting, ripping away at Obama, you be assured that the Democrats will use that in two years to attempt to push them out, and retake the Senate and the House. This is why it is so essential that Republicans tread very carefully during the next two years, doing what they can to stall the Obama agenda, but also being inclusive so as to assure voters that they are doing everything to keep the opposition in the ring. However, if they shut the Democrats down, kicking them to the curb, then they could anger voters, who would end up swinging back to a Democrat vote.
OK, there’s no doubt that the Republicans want the White House. Let’s cut to the chase. If they get the White House in two years, what are they going to do with it. Will it all be about power, and the Republican elitists agenda. Will they come in all stiff collared, complete with their puffy silk tie, dark suit, holier than though? Will they re-arrange the budget so we end up in one military conflict after another. Or, will they answer the call and re-instate US respect over seas. Will we stand up to China, Russia, and take a clear stand on ISIS. Will we deal realistically with Ebola. Would a Republican President assure the American people who his appointees will not based on political favors, but instead on one’s ability to do the job. The right people in the right place. People experienced in the field. And most importantly, will this new president assume responsibility for his own actions. Will he/she be responsible, holding themselves to bare the responsibility rather than blaming everyone else for their actions,or lack thereof.
Look, our country is in serious trouble. We need responsibility at the helm. We have not seen that since Mr. Obama took up house-keeping at the White House. So Republicans have to map their way into the oval office, being careful not to make the public think this is all about Republican-Democrat, and power. And most important, this has nothing to do with race. It’s all about getting America back on her feet and returning us to the world table where we are once again recognized as the most powerful nation on the planet.
To accomplish that task though, Republicans must put politics aside. Make The United States the priority, and save this country, returning it to what it once was…One Nation, Under God, indivisible, With Liberty and Justice For All.
That’s my point of view….I look forward to your insights. God Bless America and
Don’t for get to vote on Election Day!
